Light One and its untold stories…!
I still have a habit of writing about my life, pouring love and emotion into every word and preserving the most beautiful moments, which will probably never repeat! It is my way of expressing gratitude and appreciation for everything in my beautiful life. ♥ Today I reread the story from more than a month ago!
                              "If you want to go fast, go alone,
                               If you want to go far, go together!"

L I G H T E R ♥
I want to thank my team! Wow! We are Yuppies! After completing the 60-hour X Startup Social journey together under “Captain Tạ Minh Tuấn,” we continue a journey of continuity and giving back, bringing positive values to the community, staying involved, and taking action in many ways so we can GO ALL THE WAY together! Light Charity is also one of YUP's brainchildren! Quite simply, we accompany clothes on their journey from owners who no longer use them to people who truly need them. Beyond that, we continue supporting children with cancer!
WE HAVE NEVER THOUGHT WE COULD DO EVERYTHING ALONE! WE ALWAYS HOPE TO WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY AND THE WHOLE COUNTRY, DOING SIMPLE THINGS THAT GROW INTO SOMETHING GREAT, MAKING VIETNAM A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE!!!
…. Good Morning, you ♥ Yuppie Mỹ Mỹ, 25.5.2018!
“On the morning of 23/5, after our meeting at 5 a.m., some Light Charity teammates and I visited a vegetarian restaurant to ask for secondhand items. The restaurant has a glass-fronted cabinet where people leave used or unwanted things for those in difficult circumstances who need them to take!
We thought there would only be a few bags of clothes, but were truly delighted when the shop owner gave us an entire mezzanine’s worth—40 BAGS! We were so excited that messages flooded our group chat: requests for all kinds of help, transport arrangements, and more… We sent the chat into a frenzy!
Of course we were happy: after a whole morning, we had moved everything to the central warehouse!
Right now, with about 6 hours until we board the vehicle to Buôn Mê Thuột to serve in the Social program there — BMT has few programs, so we are going to help Yuppies nationwide do the best they can, WE ARE ONE! — the MAMA LEADER of Đà Nẵng Yuppies called us back for a serious round of teamwork!
why is that?
Nearly 50 bags of clothes, and Mother Chi still rounded us up and brought us back!
• Called back for a good talking-to because we were not working as a team!
• Called back because we were throwing the whole team into chaos, shouting for all sorts of help — does calling out like that count as teamwork?
• Called back because we have 8 departments, each with its own responsibilities, while we kept trying to do everything ourselves!
Only after sitting and listening to Mama for a while did I understand! To be honest, I felt both embarrassed and ashamed, yet full of energy! Yes, it felt good! After listening to her, I finally understood why Light exists! Why we need Lighters! Why we have regular meetings at 5 a.m.! Why we have to wait for Saigon's first-round process before taking action!… Why, and why! BECAUSE I CAN DO IT ON MY OWN! But how far can I, or my group alone, GO? HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN WE HELP??? We do not want to organize just 1 event, help only a few children with leukemia, or share clothes with just a small community! We choose to DO OUR BEST! How true! Social work is easy to do, but achieving the greatest impact and best results is hard! Thank you, the Yup family!”
Sitting in Đà Nẵng's 41-degree summer heat, reading and listening to myself from those gently warm May days with the first rains of the season… makes it even hotter! ^^ Another day, I'll continue the unfinished story! Now, getting ready for tonight's black-shirt squad gathering and the stories of books! Only now do I really feel it: Wait! Why does a day have only 24 hours? WE ARE ONE, YUP!
