Light One: A Year in Review

In 2018, Light Charity had more than 700 Lighters (people who bring light) across major regions of Vietnam: Hà Nội, Quãng Ngãi, Đà Nẵng, Nha Trang, the Central Highlands, Sài Gòn, and Cần Thơ.

Đà Nẵng accounts for over 50% of Lighters nationwide, followed by Saigon with more than 120 Lighters.

And the number of donated items of clothing is 150,000+.

Positively impact nearly 10.000 disadvantaged people nationwide by providing clothing.

Đà Nẵng raised 61.738.000 VND through symbolic-price clothing sales and donations at 4 Light One events in 4 different locations. Saigon followed with 59.895.000 VND from 3 Light One events at 2 locations. Hà Nội raised 45.304.000 VND. Cần Thơ's 2 Light One events raised 28.361.000 VND, while 2 events in the Central Highlands raised 6.726.000 VND.

In addition to creating a positive social impact by providing clothing to nearly 10,000 disadvantaged people nationwide, the nominal proceeds from clothing sales helped the Giấc Mơ Đôi Chân Thiên Thần Fund support monthly treatment for 21 children with leukemia, so their families no longer had to worry about this expense.

Light Charity means “Charity of Light,” with the slogan “Becom the Light” (Become the Light). Just as light illuminates things and makes them clear, Light Charity was established with the aim of bringing transparency to charity in Vietnam. Light also makes society and the world better; through charity, Light hopes to add more light to this society and help make Vietnam a better place to live.
