Lighter Nguyễn Cường Thịnh’s reflections after Light One Saigon 2 – Light Day 7.7.2018
The second Lightcharity Saigon event has now passed. Only today have I found time to write a little about the program for everyone to read and help spread its values further… Lightcharity is a charitable program launched in February 2018 and held in Ho Chi Minh City, Hà Nội, Cần Thơ, Đà Nẵng, and Buôn Mê Thuột. On 07/07/2018, its second edition took place at Tân Thuận Export Processing Zone in District 7. Its mission is to distribute secondhand clothing for 2k per item and use the proceeds to raise funds for children with leukemia. “Giấc mơ đôi chân thiên thần Fund” represents those children, and benefactors can contribute through the program's Lightcharity.org Fanpage. That is a brief introduction; the work involved in making such an event happen is equally substantial. The Logistics Team is a core component, transporting clothing from collection points to warehouses around Ho Chi Minh City for sorting. Clothing collection began on 25/05/2018, when the transport team also started operating. To make such a successful sharing day possible, Thịnh thanks Trần Hữu NgânNguyễn TrangLe NganPhù Dung and hundreds of other volunteers whose names I cannot all remember, for taking time away from work to participate. The program will happen many more times, and I hope to see you all again and again. I also thank Dat Chi for donating money to the program.
